The Meridian Township Fire Department was awarded $70,000 in 2017 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for the purchase and installation of 2,500 combination smoke/carbon monoxide alarms for Meridian Township homeowners.
The grant funding provides smoke/carbon monoxide alarms, installation and educational materials on the effects of smoke and carbon monoxide in the home. The alarms include a 10 year lithium battery. If you are a Meridian Township resident homeowner, you can schedule a free assessment and installation appointment by calling the Meridian Township Fire Department at 517.853.4700.
A Meridian Township Fire Department representative will contact applicants individually to schedule a free assessment and installation appointment. The program ends August 31, 2019. This is for Meridian Township homeowners only.
